Pastor Or CEO?

Recently, I was trying to make an appointment with a pastor friend of my for lunch or dinner. He was kind of hard to get him because he is a very very busy pastor. That set me thinking.....

What exactly is a job of a pastor? A person who is there to care, love, concern, counsel, guide, 'scold', encourage, praise, set example, teach...etc, etc.....

Or is he a CEO...runs the office, church, set goals, visions; lead, manage, motivate the people; coordinate programme, ensure program es are carried out effectively, meet targets, show sympathy but without compassion......

I think that what people are looking for these days are not another 'boss'. We are looking for someone who is genuinely loving us, accepting us, encouraging us, be there for us (not only the bad or happy times but during normal times).

The difference between Pastor pastor and CEO pastor....the later is only available for you when there is a need; may it be ministry works, funeral, wedding or when something happened to our lives. Pastor, on the other hand, spend time with us not only during our joyful or sorrowful times, but is always there, he is just like a FRIEND; just like Jesus.
