Japanese Food on 2 Occasions

1st - Gathering with colleagues at Momoya, near Upper Changi Road

Mike, my colleague was dress for the occasion

Momoya served Jap food in buffet a-la-cart style. Food and services were consider acceptable. The restaurant imposed a time frame for dinning, 5pm to 7.30pm since it was the Saturday before Mother's Day.

2nd - Andrew's Birthday lunch at Kingjo Japanese Dinning.

My beautiful wife having her set lunch....

Kingjo served value for money set meals, both lunch and dinner. Promotion was order 2 sets and get a plate of salmon sashimi free, but the slices of free sashimi were quite thin and small...

The portion and quality of the sets were surprisingly good and generous.

Of course, the main thing was the fellowship....enjoy it greatly.

Growing my goatee

Here's pics of me trying to grow my goatee....

After keeping it 3 plus weeks.....I decide to just let it remain at stubbles...think it looks better than goatee....lol

What is absolute?

Nothing on this earth is absolute........? Except the Word of God, the promises of our heavenly Father.......

A fact in science, is a fact that await it to be proven wrong or otherwise. Was reading an article about a research work regarding Omega 3. Now some scientists are saying that Omega3 may not helps in brain development. Science and the modern days technologies were not able to explain and predict the direction of the wind accurately. The theory of many science findings are based on assumptions, and not facts. An assumption leads to facts??????

So where shall we put our faith in, science, modern technologies or God? Your choice........

What is common in Churches, Mosques, Temples?

One of the common thing about some churches on Sunday, Mosques on Friday, and temples on special occasions...is the illegal parking!

Strange that all these people parked their cars all along road side...major or minor roads. And even strangest of all...they don't get a summon ticket...????

I have personally witness the illegal parking on a Friday afternoon near my estate. It was so bad that it caused obstruction to the bus stop and caused an old lady alighting the bus to fall.

A ex-colleague of my stay near a church, he told me that on Sunday morning, those worshipers will parked outside his house and causing the already narrow road to be narrower ....and more dangerous to drive.....

I wrote in to the authorities and and the relevant parties. But nothing much has improved : o (

Home Cook Food

Yvonne has been cooking for dinner in most weekends....and I have been enjoying it....every bit of it.

Somehow, just really enjoy staying home and have dinner together; it gives me a home and really warm feeling. Perhaps such feeling comes with age....lol.

Sign of maturity????????

Miracles Rally

Last Sunday morning, the Area ministers were informed that the speaker for the healing rally would want us praying for the sick. He believe that God can use anyone who believe in Him.

So indeed, we went out to pray for the sick. I was reminded that many years ago, I had the privileged to participate in praying for the sick in a Miracle Rally like this. Than I was still a young men, before I knew Yvonne.

I remembered praying for a little deaf boy, age 5, he was born deaf. After prayer...his was healed...he could hear! Of course a serious of tests were done before and after prayer to establish his healing. His mother was crying with joy. Praise the Lord!

This time, I have an old lady with hearing aid came to me for prayer. I prayed a simple prayer for her. Asked her to remove her hearing aid...test...and she could hear much clearer and louder. I prayed for her again and asked her to claim for her complete healing.

Praise the Lord for the opportunity to partner Him, in what he was doing.

Thank you Lord!

Peak Period Again

Work has been super busy since Feb till now, and will be for another month or so. But in the midst of crazy stress... a good news came in.

I received a letter from the NUS 2 days ago, my employment term was converted from 2 years contract to permanent. It was sigh of relieved, as what happened in NTU was still lingering and haunting me.

Praise be to God on the highest, this is a breakthrough and all glory belong to Him.

Shepherd or Task Master

A thought came to me while driving to work this morning. Am I a shepherd or a task master?

Shepherd tends the sheep; take care, love, concern, make sure they are well fed (eating the correct food), have enough sleep and protect them from harms (by warning or direct confrontation with the dangers).

Task master, is like a farmer, placing a yoke and expecting the ox to work the ground minus the care and love.

In the season of reaching out, lets not forget the role of a shepherd. We could get carried away and keep sharing about responsibilities, roles and what we should do to reach out to the lost; and forgetting to care for the sheep.

ps : After all, the ox works best when it is well taken care of ...more strength, more willing, more able to carry the yoke.....

Preaching in Hokkien Service

This morning went to share in the Hokkien service. It was supposed to be a normal service till about 2 weeks ago, the church decided to change it to a Chinese New Year outreach service.

Sad to said, the turn out was poor as some of them have gone to a bigger gathering somewhere else. However, looking at the commitment of the helpers, like Rose, Jane and Bro Leong, it challenges me to love the Lord, loves His people....and convert the love of both to serving.

The mainly elderly congregation was very encouraging too. maybe the pictures and the Chinese New Year related topic that I used, this time lesser elderly fall asleep. Thank God for His grace.

Let's continue to pray for a revival in this group of people.

Worshiping God as who we are

Read this morning in a certain devotion sharing that we should worship God as who we are. The devotion encouraged readers not to self examine when we come into the presence of God; and get discourage to worship Him as we find faults (which means sins) in our life, its also mentioned Luke 7:36-50 about the prostitute. She "worship" Jesus first than her sin was forgiven.

On the whole it was a very encouraging devotion. But I think not to self-examine, is like sweeping dirt under the carpet. After all, the prostitute did knew about her sins yet she came to Jesus, knowing that He has the power to forgive.

I suggest we should instead examine ourself, give our weaknesses and struggles to the Lord. With the forgiveness of the finished work on the cross, we should not be discouraged when we see faults(sins?) in our life. God loves us; why should we than get discourage by our weaknesses (unless we are consciously unwilling to let go of our sins).

We should come into His presence knowing He does not condemn us and face head on with our sins (faults as the devotion mentioned), give them to God. We should celebrate His grace, mercy, the work of the cross, giving Him praise, glory, honor and the victory over our sins.

In Him there is no condemnation.

New addition to my workstation

Bought these 10 beach boy figurines in Hong Kong. Suppose to distribute it to colleague but later change my mind and keep it for myself......

Photofunia

Here's a few pictures using Photofunia, an application for iPhone.

Pic taken after hair cut, when I could not find a mirror to look at my new hair style.

This pic was taken at the farewell dinner for Andrew and Karen, before they went to Doha.

Taken in a Jap restaurant in Malacca, Malaysia

my wedding pic.....

Chinese new year deco at home

Took a few pictures of my new plants, 2 pots are for Chinese New Year only, and the other pot should last longer

Pussy willow is a name given to many of the smaller species of the genus Salix (willows and sallows). Chinese word .银柳(留) has a meaning of "retaining the silver". Which literal mean "money stay".

A green plant I like, so bought ......suppose can grow it indoor and can survive better.

This is what my wife likes, "daisy" look alike............but it's a seasonal plant...meaning can't last too long.

Pic of Nathan

Don't you think Nathan looks cool in that jacket.........?????

Nathan is the most cool boy I know leh............hahahaha

Things are changing to the Better?

I went to the Area Ministers meeting last night, despite the headache I have throughout the day. And praise be to God, our Father....the headache disappeared when I took that step faith of going. Thanks to the "hint" by Ps Danny.

In the discussion, I brought up that recently I have heard lesser negative feedback regarding the church or its leadership. Things seems to be improving; and given time, we will feel a refreshing in the midst of us.

here's what I think, time is a key ingredient to healing of hurts, wounds. Time is also needed for changes to take place. We should allow time to take its cause, and we will see results.

So let's all take time, to wait upon the Lord, take time to fellowship with each others, give time for people to response...

"In all things, in prayers and supplications" ..........

Worries!!!!!

Work is super busy...writing during my lunch break.....drinking my coffee and munching my sandwiches....

After much prayer, today seems to be more 'on top' of things. Nevertheless, still stress though manageable.

Just been told that my March travel schedule was confirmed, 12 to 15 March to KL, Malaysia. Not sure if I should bring my family along. (hehehe) I am the worrysome type of guy, so if Yvonne and Nathan "wondering" around KL without me, I will be worry....

Coincidentally, had a nightmare last night. I dreamt Yvonne and Nathan were in Malaysia without me. And Nathan went to toilet alone cos Yvonne cannot go in. Than Nathan was kidnapped and disappeared...

So should they come along with me? Hahahaha........

My New iPhone

After much calculation, finally got my new iphone. I got it for $98 only though. $200 trade-in old phone and $100 for signing up broadband on mobile with Singtel riding on on current MIO plan. Only pay like extra $15 a month...on top of my $70 plus for MIO plan.
