Christian Calling

We can easily summarize 3 “Calling” in Christian walk.

Calling to relationship with God (Eph 1:4)

Christianity is basically a relationship with God. We call God intimately as Father. And relationship needs to be cultivated, reading His Word, learning to hear His voice in prayer, praise & worship.

Calling to character and personal holiness (Eph 1:5)

As we progress with our relationship with God, we cannot help it but allow Him to build up our characters and change our life style. We are called to be more like Jesus.

Calling to contribute through good works (Eph 2:10)

How would people know the love of God? By us demonstrating it. We are to serve one another and take care of the needs of the “needy”. By so doing, we show forth the love of God and introduce a relationship with God to them.

Do we wait till we have a perfect relationship and character before we start contributing? These 3 callings work hand in hand. We cannot grow in relationship with God without changing of our life style and putting our hand in the plough. Likewise, we can contribute unless we have a relationship with God.

We grow together in this 3 aspects, missing any one will not complete our walk as a Christian.
