Review Superstar Virgo Cruise

Back from the Super Star Virgo cruise......I believe Yvonne will post more pics and share more stories on her blog, so I keep my "serious" on food....after all, on the cruise nothing interest me more than the food.

Check-in
Our checked in was fast, because someone (Yvonne's colleague) help us to check -in. Walk the "walkway" to the ship. At one point, we saw 2 icon star cruise penguins, one man, one woman and a few cruise photographers trying to take pictures for us with those characters. My first thoughts ....to ask us to buy them later...am sure it's will not be free....lol

Walk way

It was a long smooth walk to our cabin (with window). When we open the door to our cabin 6520...we were delighted with the setting and the space..Nathan was excited about the upper deck bed and the Disney channel, while I was excited about the HBO channel....and Yvonne...wanting to go out to explore already.

Part of the cabin, there is a bed on the left...

The toilet : centre is the basin area, left is the stand shower, rite is the "toilet" (not in pic). Each can stand one person comfortably

We headed to the buffet dinner...Mediterranean buffet, and we were greatly greatly disappointed with the "international buffet". Lack of varieties, taste and look like food court. The worst part was, once you entered with swiping your cruise card, you cannot changed your mind.

The room acess card, also act as meals entries card, and credit card on board

programme sheets are given each evening for the next day.

After dinner, we went on to explore the ship, from pools, decks, card room, arcade.....

Next morning, we decided to try the Western restaurant (Bella Vista) for breakfast...another disappointment. The omelets were tasteless, the fruits were not fresh and mainly canned fruits...the only thing I like about the breakfast, the cereals and banana....lol

Later Yvonne and Nathan went swimming and sliding down the "tube", while i enjoyed the sea breeze and have a little time to appreciate the whole cruise.

Than come lunch...we decided to go the try out the Chinese restaurant (Pavilion). The food again was better, much better than the Mediterranean. Before the set lunch was served (oh ya, it was a standard set lunch) there was this congee buffet you can eat all you want....simple but nice as the wait for the lunch could be long. Nathan had like 3 bowls of congee...

After lunch, we exercised a little, played table tennis and carom. After which, we went tea- break. A very very very simple tea-break buffet...and taste-less....

Dinner was next, we tried the Bella Vista again. Kind of like fine dinning....presentation, colors and taste were good. The best meal I had on board....

Yvonne went to see Keeny Bee performance with her colleague, while Nathan and I were glued to the tv. Before Kenny Bee performs, I brought Yvonne to the casino to experience...we did not try our 'luck".....don't really believe in it anyway....as gambling is like drugs..highly addictive...better not to start.

Than came breakfast before check-out, we went Pavilion and the food were so-so.....

The checked-out was a little confusing, but on a whole effective....they made us all sit in the Lido theatre and disembarked section by section, row by row....Heard son complaining to his mom..."they make us all sit here and wait". His mom without hesitation replied "better than make you stand waiting...."

I will share more on how I feel about cruise in a later post...but for now....it's lunch time again....and Yvonne is cooking...I love it!!!!
