Marriage, Divorce

There was this short film showing how a mother never gives up on his son for repeated drug offences. She said he is always her son, despite all and nothing will or can change that.

Recently, I was thinking about divorces…does one have a choice? Isn’t it how we treat marriage. Is marriage a relationship like mother and child; unchangeable? Or is it a relationship we can choose to break anytime we cannot take it anymore?

“I have had it! Given her more than hundreds of chances to change, yet never changed!!!”…Is there really a limit to the relationship? Or can the mother say to her son: “I am no longer your mother because you choose to do drug again and again….YOU never changed!”

Is marriage a relationship like mother and son, or like roommates?

In the morning service yesterday, we sang “He is a faithful God”, “Nothing can changed His promises to us”; one of the greatest promise God gave us; is that He will never leave us (or give up on us).

Should we give up on others? Shall we give up on ourselves? Shall we give up on God (has God given up on our spouse, will He ever give up)?
