NO TIME

In the morning service, Ps Alan Das said this which stuck in my mind the whole day....

"You are not busy and have no time; you are just disorganised" How true this statement is when applied to our time spent doing different things....family, ministry and exercising....lol

Discipling

I was very excited this morning...why? Because I was about to have a discipling session with Stanely... : o0

Have not been doing young christian discipling for a long long time.....hmm...since I became a Divisional Overseer?

It was both exciting and fearful....but praise be the God Almighty! All went well and I enjoyed the time with Stanley, though short. Stanley is nice and I think he really loves Jesus.... Hope he enjoyed it too?

In Watchman Nee book " The Character of God's Workman" it said " Therefore, in order to serve the Lord well, you must learn to be interested in people. Without such an interest, you can do little"....

Indeed, it is the love that can motivate one to reach out, first loving God than loving men.

Taking up the responsibility of discipling caused me to go back to basic and begin to experience the love of God...and His calling in my life.

Prayer in the service

Recently, we were all gathered in the Areas we are in for prayer right before the prayer end. It was a little messy in the beginning. However, the gathering seem easier after the 1st time.

But I couldn't understand why the Regional Pastor must prayed thru the mic on stage when we were all trying to pray and listened to the prayer of those leading in each group. Either the group leader has to shout their prayer or we just pretend we are praying, quite confusing at times....

Is it because the RP has no group he could join? Or is it he felt that the Area Ministers are unable to lead the group? Or he just want to create an atmosphere of prayer (or noise) : o ) ?

heehee...without RP knowing, I let the sound crew lower his volume this morning, so that the group of 20 plus people could hear what Andrew was praying.......bad hor....

the law and the christian

Recently read this interesting article at http://www.blogpastor.net/2009/02/06/the-law-and-the-christian/

You can either listen to the podcast or read the write-up. Also don't miss the comments by Bro Monte...

My personal view? God gave the law for the good of His people. It was and is never meant to judge us. However, consequences of not following the law(sin), we have to bear lah............

If my baby son was not taught that putting his finger into the electric socket is dangerous, he may one day 'plucked' his finger in and get kill. The consequences of not telling my son, may be irreversible.

So that's what law can assist us, to recongise the "danger"; and aviod the consequences of sins.

Why are we NOT doing this?

Still on the subject of 'evangelising' : o )

Not long ago I wrote that we have overwhelming turn out for the Christmas outreach. However, this are rare occasion where we see members inviting their love one, family and friends. On a normal Sunday, we hardly see any new visitors; maybe once in a while.

Pastor Han asked before, what do we think were the reasons for the people to invite.? Many said it was the food, the occasion(Christmas), the marketing, etc.

One reason I was reminded of were excitement & expectation.

The member were all looking for something, they are expecting a great time, good drama, good food, good atmosphere and most of all, the presence of the Lord to touch their love ones. While they began to expect, they got excited. While they got excited they begin to expect (hope). And hence they invite.

On the other hand, regular Sunday services. Do we have something to look forward to or are we looking forward for something? There is a different between the two. The earlier has to do with the church (preaching, worship, environment, etc). The later has to do with us (spiritual conditions, mood)

The church needs to get the members to be excited and expecting. Excited about going to the services, expecting for the awesome presence of the Lord, touching lives. (Can I said excitement as faith?)

We on the other hand, need to look into our lives. Are we praying enough, reading the bible, living right, etc.....

So are you looking forward for Sunday Service, if yes(no), why? If the service are 'bored', will we invite? If we are spritually dead, will we have the passion for the lost?
