Letting The Past Go

You cannot be successful and happy until you release the offenses of the old.

Remind yourslef, " God has a plan for my life," and nobody appears in His "video" of my life unless He allows it - which means every one serves a purpose in your life. Maybe he or she was teaching you to appreciate the love of God. Or perhaps they were being used by God to show you what happens when you become a person devoid of patience or gratitude.

Take the lesson, use it, but always turn right and let them go! Be like a kid! Children has a great ability to forgive and letting the past goes.....

If you people need a book to read, try this one, "Freedom to Forget" by Dan Willis.

Yvonne read it first and recommended it to me. Wonderful book, I would encourage all to read this book. Simple and easy to understand with large font size....suitable for easy reading....

My favourite FIsh Soup



The fish soup is the famous "Blanco court" fish food. When I was working in OUB, this was one of my favourite fish food. They have moved to China Square since the old place was demolished, the current site for Raffles Hospital.

I recently met Yvonne for lunch at this stall. But I was dissapointed, the standard has drop. The soup is no longer as sweet and fresh like before. The fish is also not as fresh anymore.

Oh boy, do I miss that taste.....

Praying for the Sick

Last night Bro Albert shared about his thoughts on praying for the critically sick. He said beside praying for healing, he would always prayed for peace and comfort for the brethren. How true, when a person is unwell, what he/she needed most is a peaceful and comforting heart. May I add to it, comfort can be found in the companionship of our Lord and through family members and friends. Peace, also can be found in the confidence of Jesus, knowing He is in-charge.

And I like to add to peace and comfort, joy and hope. Where laughter (merry/happy heart) is a good medicine, the joy of the Lord is our strengthen. Hope, may be hope of recovery, but also knowing for certain that the Lord has a plan to prosper us and not to harm us, there are better days ahead.

For those reading this entry, please pray for Bro Toh Eng, who is suffering from nose cancer. Please also remember his family in our prayer.

“家人和其他人最大不同的地方,就是有更多更寬廣的包容”。

This statement could be simply translated as “ The differences between family and others, is, there are much more acceptance”.

This was a very true statement for a me many years back. Without the love and acceptance from both Yvonne's and my families, we will not be where we are right now. The unconditional love they have shown to us are a blessing from our Lord, Jesus Christ.

And I want to thank Yvonne for loving and accepting me as who I am. Even I have so many imperfections, my wife has accepted me. Thank you, dear. You are a blessing from God, and the most important person on earth to me. Without you and Nathan, I am not sure how live will be......love you both always....

Why must I go thru this????

Someone asked me this question before, "why must I suffer, why God didn't stop me from sinning against him, and now i got to suffer?"

Here's a write up I copy from a blog...hope it encourage all of us who are going thru the wilderness....

God is so perfect yet sovereign, it's paradoxically to know that He cannot make a mistake even if His perfect powers enable him. My heart is filled with thanksgiving because of all the good times that carried me through places. And not forgetting the bad and tearful that brought me to my knees, awakening my soul to the the love of my life."

Never for a moment shall I be beyond your reach or call for help, even when you cannot see me….I shall be present with you all the time, even though invisible; may it be good times or tough times….

I Love Jesus!!!!! And wanna love Him more in 2008……….

Year 2007

It has been a year since I started blogging…times really fly…

Looking thru 2007, I want to thank my God for a wonderful year. Not many ups or downs, even if there were some downs, Christ Jesus was always been with me through it all. Than of course, I have to thank my wife for her patience, forbearance, grace and love to me. And my son Nathan for being such a wonderful son. Love you all!!!

Some events that happened , of which marked my 2007

1. Mother went for operation
2. Swollen ear loop
3. Best pal left for Doha, wish he is here with me..sop sop..
4. Family trip to Krabi, it’s like yesterday. Also a short stay at Changi Village hotel.
5. Slight depression period in October
6. Coordinating David’s wedding, enjoyed doing it together with Yvonne…2006 was Eugene’s….
7. Preached in Hokkien Service….in Hokkien!!!!!! Thank God for His mercy…
8. Learn to play a guitar ‘properly’…lol
9. Nathan completed his Primary 1 with good grades….Hallelujah!!!
10. Lastly, I started this blog!!!!!!!

Growing Up

Have not update for a long time……..home pc is down, plus super lazy……..

I was shocked to see Nathan came back home from his 1st day in school with a slash near his right eye, near to his eyeball!!!!! Yvonne was saying my mom and dad were worried and nagging the whole night.

Me : Is it painful?
Nathan : Nope
Me : Who did this?
Nathan : A girl in class (I can’t remember her name)
Me : Did you tell teacher?
Nathan : No, she already said sorry to me and it’s not painful………

And he is also a buddy for a primary 1 boy. Taking care of the younger boy, bringing him around and showing him the rope to buy food…..

I really feel that my son has grown up : o )
